Richard Verity was the owner of Dean House. Born in 1788 he died in 1857.
The Alms Houses were originally built to house 3 old people, but the houses were converted into 1 during or after World War II. At that time they were occupied by the Anderson family who were evacuated from Hastings and who stayed on in Dean after the war.
